•Do you offer framing?
I do! I used Simply Framed to professionally frame my paintings. On the deposit purchase page, you’ll see an example of each of the 5 frame styles I offer, and you can always look at Simply Framed’s site for more details about each style. If you choose framing, please be aware that it will take your portrait some extra time (about 2 weeks longer) to get to you, as I will ship it directly to Simply Framed, where they will custom frame your piece, then ship it to you!
•When can I expect my portrait?
*If you need your portrait by a certain date, please reach out ahead of purchase so that I can see if it’s possible to accommodate the date you need*
I am only taking on one portrait per week this year, so it may be several weeks or months before I can ship out your portrait. But in general, after you reserve your commission, I will reach out to you to give you an estimate of the timeline for your commission. The estimate is a combination of the number of orders ahead of you on my commission list, and just the natural time it takes to do a portrait and let the oil paint fully dry (about 2 weeks).
•Do you work off of photos? What kinds of photos should I send to you for the portrait?
Yes, I work off of photos to make the commission process easy & affordable. After you reserve your commission, I will send you my guidelines for great reference photos and we can go over any shots you’re thinking of using!
•Will you paint the full figure, or the background around the subject?
These portraits are head & bust only, with just a nod to clothing or accessories, on a clean white background, as the focus is the subject’s face. Full bodies, multiple subjects, detailed backgrounds or articles of clothing are not included. If you have a specific vision for a more detailed portrait, please reach out and I can give you a custom estimate.
•Can I do a portrait of my pet?
Sorry, much as I love them, animals are truly not my specialty- but human subjects of all shapes, sizes, and colors are welcome!
