In the Wild Grass is a series of new original Landscape paintings that explore fog and the mysteries it shrouds. Featuring several large scale oil paintings on canvas, as well as a selection of oil paintings with dyed silk overlays.
Sizes range from 9x12" to 30x40".
Collector's List members will get early access to this collection at 12pm EST on 10/1. Join the Collector's list here.
In the Wild Grass began with the fog in my own backyard and ran off into my imagination from there.
I painted these landscapes in thin layers of oil that blend and mix on the canvas, instead of mixing consistent batches of paint on the palette.
This method leaves small subtle variations in tone as the colors and layers build up, adding depth and a sense of the journey of the painting's creation.
This collection includes some special paintings that are made in a new way:
The first layer is oil on panel or canvas, then that is covered by a second layer of thin translucent silk painted with dye.
Creating a veiled foggy effect with different organic shapes that interact with each other and shimmer as you you move around the piece.
